Earth or Space ObservationHosted Payload
Fast, affordable and sustainable access to orbit.
SpaceLocker is a secondary hosted payload service company enabling in-orbit demonstrations and data-generation missions through shared satellite missions.
SPACE LOCKER #SPECIAL PRIZE
CHALLENGE FROM

FROM SPACE
Imagine a hosted payload for an Earth or space observation mission, from the identification of a downstream need to a credible development road-map, potentially leading to an in-orbit demonstration.
TO THE CHALLENGE
Design a realistic payload concept compatible with Low Earth Orbit missions (ex. SSO 600km). Define its associated business model and expected impact. Explore how a single hosted payload can generate valuable data. Justify a space mission without building a full satellite.
The challenge is not about deep technical design, but about coherence, feasibility, and value creation.
Your goal: propose a clear, credible, and compelling payload concept. For examples : an optical sensor with a specific filter for a niche Earth observation application that does not justify a full satellite (ex: monitoring surface algae development in oceans), a small constellation of miniaturized receivers to triangulate radio sources from distant galaxies, an infrared spectrometer pointing towards space to detect electric propulsion plume emissions from satellites.
Your proposal shall include the identification of a downstream need, with a focus on Earth or space observation. The mission concept with the associated business model, the expected impacts and value creation. A development roadmap (6 months / 12 months / 2 years) leading to a potential in-orbit demonstrator.
Identify key partners that could support the project, such as investors, industrial partners, suppliers, technical partners, or institutional stakeholders.
