Tackle ActInSpace’s challenges and unleash your entrepreneurial potential! ActInSpace® is an international innovation contest inspiring young women and men worldwide to meet challenges based on space technologies, data, patents and infrastructures to launch start-ups into all areas of our daily lives. Designed for students but open to everyone, the objective is to foster entrepreneurship, encourage start-up creation and promote the use of space technologies and space acquired data to change citizen’s lives, to boost employment and to protect our planet.

ActInSpace® is a unique opportunity for participants worldwide to work on creating business prospectives for the challenges by the use of patents, technologies and satellite data made available by CNES, ESA, Airbus and all our partners to create start-ups. The challenges are based on high-level technologies, which nevertheless are easy to re-use because they have been selected due to their potential for commercial applications. The winners of the ActInSpace contest will be awarded with amazing prizes, with the grand prize being a Zero-G Airbus A310 parabolic flight. However, the most important is not just to win, but to reach solutions ready to launch start-up companies, thanks to experts supporting all participants and teams round-the-clock during the ActInSpace contest. After a first French edition (1 country, 5 cites), a second European edition (12 countries, 24 cities), ActInSpace 2018 went global.

ActInSpace took place simultaneously on May 25-26 2018 in 32 countries and 54 cities. This third edition proved an enormous success, attracting more than 3,300 entrants. On the day of the event, 2,200 took part in more than 550 teams working for 24 hours on one of the 80 challenges set.

The International Prize, a flight in weightless conditions aboard the A310 Zero-G aircraft, went to Wright Team Incorporated from Australia.

ActInSpace® is an international innovation contest initiated by the French Space Agency (CNES) uniting over 100 cities across 5 continents. ActInSpace® is supported by ESA and the ESA Business Incubation Centres network. The CNES and ESA have mandated ESA BIC Sud France, led by Aerospace Valley, for the operational execution of the 3^rd edition of ActInSpace®.
