ActInSpace Czechia || An international innovation contest lead by CNES and ESA

ACTINSPACE IN CZECHIA

The very first year of ActInSpace hackathon in Prague is proudly organised by ESA BIC Prague in cooperation with Czech University of Life Sciences and with CEE Hacks. The event will take place on 25th and 26th May in the Round hall of Czech University of Life Sciences as a part of Czech Space Year

Have you ever dreamt of using space technologies to launch your own startup? Then stop dreaming and start doing!

ActInSpace is the only competition in the world that gives the chance to use CNES and ESA patents.
Act In Space Prague is part of the global network of Act In Space events that will take place in 71 cities across 5 continents in the same time.

The national winner will have a chance to compete final international round in Toulouse on 27th June and WIN:

- Zero G flight and weightlessness experience like real astronauts
- A320 pilot training of Airbus satellite integration room and 3D facilities to reach the stars
- Voucher of 100k€ of satellite derived data and Support for a start-up creation
- and many others prizes!

FRIDAY 25 MAY

  • 13:00-13:30 candidate welcome
  • 13:30-14:00 welcome messages from central organisers and information from regional organisers
  • 14:00-15:00 selection of challenges / finalisation of teams
  • 15:00 challenges begin
  • 16:30-18:00 information on various subjects with space experts and coaches
  • 20:00 evening meal
  • 21:00 work continues long into the night

 

SATURDAY 26 MAY

  • 9:00 breakfast
  • 10:00 How to Pitch workshop
  • 10:30-12:00 coaches work with each team to take stock of progress on the challenges
  • 13:00 lunch
  • 14:00-15:00 finalisation of presentations and practice for the pitch (with support of coaches)
  • 15:30 presentation of projects to a jury of professionals
  • 16:30 deliberation by the jury/juries
  • 16:45 prizes awarded on each site
  • 17:00 closing cocktail

Marek ALDORF
Marek works as ESA BIC Prague Programme Manager at the CzechInvest. His aim is to look for entrepreneurs and young start-ups with innovative ideas for exploiting space technologies and help them to develop their non-space businesses on Earth.

Jakub NOSEK
Jakub Nosek is an international business coach with more than 17 years experience especially in business development, strategy planning, performance management and investments. He acted as a head consultant of best CEE innovation support agency,

Michal KUNEŠ
Michal has been involved in the space industry for more than 6 years. Currently, he works as a project manager at the European Space Agency’s Business Incubation Centre Prague (ESA BIC Prague) at CzechInvest.

Silvana JIROTKOVÁ
CEO of CzechInvest

Petr MANDÍK
Petr is specialist for startups, helping them to find out who their ideal customers really are and how to build the whole startup around them. He likes to work with data and proven facts. He is a mentor at Google Launchpad, Czech Invest and ESA BIC.

Miloš LOKAJÍČEK
Milos is business, project and technology advisor, mentor and consultant in startup and implementation projects. He supports Prague Startup Centre and collaboration across diverse disciplines and organizations. His motto is "Fail fast and cheap".

Tomáš STUDENÍK
Tomáš is radical innovator and city hacker. Tomáš organizes global smart city hackathons and brought the cult entrepreneurial event FuckUp Nights into the Czech Republic as well Hungary. Tomáš successfully launched a number of failed startups.

Luděk KÜHR
Ludek co-founded a private company advising Czech and Central-European private companies in the national and regional funding schemes and managing development projects. Ludek also works as manager of research projects and studies at BizGarden.

Angelika DUDOVÁ
Angelika have been in the field of advertising and marketing for 12 years. She worked for several advertising agencies such as Wunderman. Currently, she is focusing on developers and startups support and building IBM startup ecosystem.

Tomáš POUR
Tomáš is a PhD student at PU in Olomouc at the Department of Geoinformatics. He focuses mainly on analysis of remote sensing and Earth observation data from different sensors and carriers. His main topic involves airborne and UAV thermography.

Pavla JINDRÁKOVÁ
Pavla is a Software Engineer at Space Systems Czech. She graduated in Geodesy and Cartography at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Her professional skills and interests are related to Global Navigation Satellites Systems, Remote Sensing and GIS.

Pavel ŠIMEK
Pavel is a lecturer and a researcher at the Department of Information Technologies of FEM CULS Prague. His research is focused on ICT and IoT in agriculture, forestry and rural development. He is chairman of the CSITA.

Carlos GRANJA
CG devotes to space radiation research, detector instrumentation for spacecraft and the ISS and space weather, he takes part in ESA projects for development of radiation payloads on satellites. Cooperates with NASA for radiation dosimetry.

Marek SEDLÁČEK
Marek is a software engineer with extensive experience in various positions related to problem identification, data collection, processing and data visualisation, database design, big-data development and software testing.

Krsitína SVOBODOVÁ
Kristina works as a marketing manager in the business incubator ESA BIC Prague. She is responsible for marketing and PR of incubator and she works with space community in Czechia. She helps 10 incubated startups with their marketing strategy.

Tomáš DUŠA
Tomas has been involved in the space technology domain for more than 8 years, focused primarily on GNSS. His Ph.D. research was focused on GNSS RFI detection and mitigation. Now working for GNSS Centre of Excellence, beforehand for Astrium CZ.

Pavel DOBIÁŠ
Pvael is a full-stack software developer, with years of experience developing all type of custom made software using languages like Java ver. 6-8 (J2EE, JEE). For Web development he has skills with frameworks like ReactJS, AngularJS.
