The national finals of ActInSpace TUNISIA will take place in the Technopark of Sfax on 28 & 29 November, 2020.
The local finals of the second edition of ActInSpace TUNISIA will take place on 13 & 14 November, 2020, in:

- Sousse: Centre for Research on Microelectronics & Nanotechnology
- Sfax: National Engineering School of Sfax
- Gabes: National Engineering School of Gabes

What are ActInSpace?
ActInSpace is an international innovation contest initiated by the French Space Agency (CNES) and Europeen Space Agency (ESA) uniting over 100 cities across 5 continents, it aims to boost the student, researcher entrepreneurs and startups ’s entrepreneurial initiatives and employ their creativity. The objective is to foster entrepreneurship, encourage start-up creation and promote the use of space technologies and space acquired data to change citizen’s lives, to boost employment and to protect our planet.
For its 2020 edition, ActInSpace, the objective is to extend the international dimension of the competition.
After a first “France only” edition in 2014 (5 host cities), the 2nd edition widened to Europe in 2016 (12 countries and 24 cities) and the 3rd edition in 2018 went international (32 countries and 54 cities). For 2020, ActInSpace aims at being even more worldwide for its 4th edition and should be organised in 50 countries and 100 cities on the 5 continents.
And for this edition, CNES and ESA have renewed their trust in Aerospace Valley, who, as manager of ESA BIC Sud France, will once again be in charge of the operational organisation of ActInSpace.
The winning team will be invited to join the International ActInSpace competition in Toulouse Space Show on 24-25 Februaty, 2021 and compete for international prizes. The prizes include a Voucher of 100k€ of satellite-derived data and support for a start-up creation, A320 pilot training and visit of Airbus satellite integration room and 3D facilities and finally, a zeroG experience.
What are ActInSpace key goals?
- We want to make people dream bigger and develop their entrepreneurial spirit, especially young people
- We aspire to show how the space sector is amazing and can positively impact on our daily life
- We’re driven to demonstrate the social economic potential of the space sector and its ability to boost startup creation
- We look to build a bridge between civil society and Space Agencies to make patent licensing more accessible
- We believe ‘women is space’ and want to encourage women to start technical companies
